Description
Inma Fierro - Bonsai

Técnica: Mixed

Biografía del Artista: Inma Fierro studied at the University of Seville, her hometown since 1985, and Barcelona. Her background is extensive if we count the different European cities where she has lived (Florence, Berlin, Brussels) and the different artistic residencies she has undertaken (Lisbon, Cantabria, Slovenia). All this experience and learning has helped her to come into contact with the gallery and commercial circle from a very early age, as well as to make friends with different artists on the national and international scene. Inma Fierro's painting is an expressionist painting that develops intermittently between the abstract and the figurative. The leitmotiv revolves around the female gender, memory and the passage of time. Her subject matter is sometimes expressed through collage, gesture, and even the word; and the light comes from the memories of her native Andalusia. From the beginning, the color of this young artist has expressed thoughts and moments of her personal life through plastic matter. It is through this that the motif takes on meaning and its discourse is filled with symbolism from a particular language. An autobiographical work always rooted in everyday life and in the human being in general.

The Garden This new series was born like all series: a collection of specific circumstances and links of concepts that speak of life experience. The flower, the fruit, what is born and evolves, symbol of life itself, of energy, what breathes and develops, painting. It is through concepts associated with the vital and the feminine that “The Garden” proliferates in the figuration of different plants (lilies, chrysanthemums, roses, sunflowers or water lilies) that come together in the expression through a vibrant, colorful, almost sonorous palette. These plants and these colours are at the same time full of symbolism and even mystery for the artist herself. It is born from a main work called “Magna” where the “seed” is presented, which later combines the themes of women in another work such as “Lilicam”. These works are the result of the search for iconological concepts, based on the “Dictionary of Symbols” by E. Cirlot, but which later, without premeditation, evolve to combine an existential depth that refers to classic discourses of memento mori and baroque still lifes (Inma Fierro's work “Still Life”). The Garden speaks to us about life, smiles, spring, first love, growth, sincerity, inevitability, death…; always through the eyes of women, of the feminine gender, of personal vision and thoughtful discourse that invites a reflective look, an observation that leads to thought. Inma Fierro Inma Fierro (Los Palacios, Seville, 1985) He uses painting as a means of expressing ideas, feelings, and personal statements, a continuous evocation of memory. She began her studies in Fine Arts in Seville and finished them in Barcelona, where she also completed a Master's in Artistic Creation. She furthered her training in different cities such as Berlin, Florence and Brussels and participated in different artistic scholarships such as the Tempus de Vista collective (Lisbon) or the Art Cicle Club (Slovenia). Fierro has been on the Spanish art scene for years, promoting a type of painting that combines two important schools of expression: Sevillian academicism and Catalan avant-garde. This is why his works unfold through colour and image in a particular way, where he has created his own language, with a discourse focused on promoting thought and sensitivity, and where through everyday life and his own experiences he reorganises his inner world to speak to us about what is vital. She herself quotes it as follows: “I use the plastic form as a means of expressing ideas, feelings, a personal statement, a continuous evocation of memory. (…) I physically materialize my current positioning in the here and now, taking the past as a reference, constructing a present reflection for the future.”
