'... and she keeps a stone from each place she has visited'
Curated by Ángel Calvo Ulloa, the Juan Silió Gallery in Madrid presents the exhibition … and she keeps a stone from each place she has visited, in which Belén Rodríguez, Ricardo Cavada, Fuentesal & Arenillas, Núria Fuster, Antonio González, Ana H. del Amo, João Marçal and André Ricardo participate.
Ángel Calvo Ulloa offers us a selection of works that focus on the subtlety of gestures, those that usually go unnoticed but that nevertheless retain their essence. Once removed from their context and placed under the spotlight, they have the powerful capacity to unconsciously recall and reactivate sensations that hibernate somewhere in memory.
In his daily work, the curator also collects ideas and images that, in the end, in one way or another, connect with each other. Thus, although he avoids forced narratives, he instinctively creates a path in which, just as stones from different geographies and times align, the works presented here defend art without excess, that which seeks the perfect synthesis with which to concentrate and, stealthily, evoke latent feelings.
