Biografía del Artista: Cristina Ramírez is a Spanish contemporary artist born in Toledo in 1981. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2004 and subsequently completed a master's degree in contemporary art at the European University of Madrid in 2005. Ramírez's work focuses on the exploration of identity and memory, through a variety of media and techniques. She uses photography, video, installation and drawing to create works that address themes such as femininity, family and cultural legacy. Ramírez has exhibited her work in several solo and group exhibitions in Spain and other countries such as Mexico and the United States. In 2007, she received a grant from the Botín Foundation to continue her work in New York City. Her work has been recognized for its sensitive approach and its ability to explore complex issues in a poetic and suggestive way. In a series of photographs titled “La Herencia” (The Inheritance), Ramírez explores the legacy of her parents and grandparents, portraying objects and places that were part of their daily lives.
