‘Flashback’

Photography is not only a medium for the image, it is also a medium of and for memory, since its strength lies in the ability to suspend time and focus space in an instant. The photographic work of the three artists participating in this exhibition, David Catá, Ana Gil Rodríguez and Fuco Reyes, grouped into several series, Reminiscences, Cryptosystems and Psychogeographies, aims to provide narrative power to what was, like a flashback of some moment in the physical or mental past that refuses to die. Through photography of the present they reflect on memory, oblivion, time and space, as the indelible elements of a lived past that reappears to claim memory as that complex faculty of the human being indispensable for the construction of one's own identity, both individual and collective.
