Diana Fonseca - The weight of inconsistency
Biografía del Artista: Graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in 2005, Diana is one of the most interesting and gestural contemporary Cuban artists. She has had numerous solo exhibitions on and off the island. Her work has also been included in relevant collective exhibitions such as “Landlord Colors: On Art, Economy, and Materiality”, at the Cranbrook Art Museum in Michigan, USA; “Illness has a Colour”, collateral to the XIII Havana Biennial and held at Estudio 50; “The Cuban Matrix” (Torrence Art Museum, Los Angeles, United States), “Wild Noise” (Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York, United States), “Fireflies in the Night” (Stravos Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Athens, Greece), and “Transhumance, Beyond Cuban Horizons” (CAB Art Center, Brussels, Belgium). Also notable is his participation in prestigious art fairs: ArtBo, The Armory Show, Untitled Art Fair, ARCO Madrid, Expo Chicago and LISTE Art Fair Basel. In 2015 she was awarded the EFG Bank & ArtNexus Acquisition Award, Bogotá, Colombia.
