‘Paisagem paintings’

The sculptures become images; when attached to windows, the articulated monochromatic paintings give rise to architectural elements or develop sculptural qualities. The photographs that appear in the installations open up endless spaces for memory and reflection. Nature appears in his work in an extremely filtered way, as a path to consciousness. The loss of nature as an idea of reference is the driving force behind Cabrita Reis’ work. The artist sees architecture as a replacement and understands it as a mental discipline or an “exercise in reality” through which we measure ourselves and the world. This requires very high precision.
