‘Whimsical’
Whimsical is the first solo exhibition by artist Cristina Avello at the gallery. Composed primarily of sculpture, but also installations, the Madrid-born artist's exhibition offers a tour of her latest works and, at the same time, of some moments that have marked her life. Each of the works that make up Whimsical responds to a life experience that Avello has been able to transfer to her artistic practice. In this way, it transcends the inner journey of the author herself to invite each viewer to undertake their own journey towards introspection. Towards acceptance, transformation and freedom. A creative path that brings artists such as Rodin to the present day, for whom the non-idealization of reality was a path to the encounter with nature; towards truth, and therefore, towards beauty itself.
