'Paradís'

On March 19, the central space of the gallery will host for the first time the work of the photographer from Tarragona, David Mocha. Paraíso is the title of the project that he will present on this occasion. Interested in the possibilities of documentary language, David Mocha uses images from the real world to construct subjective and fictional territories. Especially interested in the relationships between territory, freedom and power, with his photographs he tries to reflect on the processes of construction and representation of the contemporary landscape. In this exhibition we present his project El Paraíso, a work carried out with a documentary style of naturalism that, at first glance, deals with a certain garden inhabited by some peculiar characters who pose with a subtle and enigmatic attitude of staging. Playing with this idea, Mocha decided to use as a visual and argumentative background for this work different gardens in Madrid, the city in which he lived while he was doing it. His idea is to generate an abstract garden (in relation to its identification), a universal garden, in which to develop his argumentative approach on the true meaning of the concept of “paradise”.
