“Praise to the Outside” is an exhibition that brings together works since 2016 to the present. The title of this exhibition has been borrowed from the first chapter of the essay “Mobilized Societies” by the anthropologist Manuel Delgado. The simple gesture of opening a door and stepping to the other side encapsulates the experience of going out, of transitioning from being inside to being outside. When we are inside, we are sheltered and protected from the dangers of the outside world, while the outdoors awaits us with an endless array of physical and moral dangers. In the city, its protagonists are uprooted. They are mobile characters, unable to be otherwise, as the outside, without roofs or walls, can hardly serve as a domicile for anything. Similarly, the outdoors holds for us an infinity of surprises, interactions, and encounters with the unknown that enrich our existence. The collective effervescence and ordinary activity of the urban crowd demonstrate the capacity for cooperation among individuals. From the intertwining of what challenges us we challenge, opportunities for exploration and discovery emerge. This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity.
