Mutisms II

Palmadotze is pleased to present a new solo exhibition by Eva Miquel (Barcelona, 1970), an artist represented by the gallery, who on this occasion will surprise us with a selection of her recent work, focused and materialised through the world of drawing and photography. After finishing her training and specialising in the technique of engraving, Eva Miquel found in photography and video the languages that helped her to construct her vision. A vision that later, in a mature stage, was seduced by the graphic qualities of drawing and that is currently once again paying attention to the possibilities of photography. Eva Miquel states that her work process is a two-way path between graphite and photography. The camera allows her to freeze that precise, poetic, magical and inspiring moment and then, in the studio, with an almost microscopic look, draw the image on paper with a graphite pencil. The textures, the greys and above all the registration of the stroke, give the representation a unique, original and different quality. Likewise, drawing and its process evoke silence, the same silence transmitted by his works of disturbing landscapes, characters lost in contemplation or desperate crowds.
