Description
Hubertus Von Hohenlohe - Prada Jungles

Biografía del Artista: Hubertus Von Hohenlohe is a Mexican-Austrian artist and alpine skier born in 1959. In addition to his sporting career, Von Hohenlohe is known for his work in art, fashion and music. Von Hohenlohe has exhibited his work in several exhibitions in Mexico and Europe. His work in art focuses on the exploration of identity and culture, and he uses a variety of techniques and materials to create works that combine elements of painting, photography and collage. Hubertus von Hohenlohe is an atypical artist, a man of action with a peculiar trajectory that leads him to contemplate the world from a singular perspective. His travels come to life in his panoramic photographs; Berlin, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, Mexico City, Mumbai, New York and Tokyo are some of the places where he has captured his characteristic style of street photography. His images show the world today through his eyes. Pop colours, montages rich in textures and ornamental details. Hubertus von Hohenlohe started his career in 2001 with the help of art curator Irene Dapunt, who was intrigued by the artist's peculiar style. His work explores the idea of integrating himself into the urban scenes that surround us, playing the role of a paparazzi that blends in with the object. Like a modern Narcissus in love with his reflection, the artist captures his own image reflected in every corner of the different cities he visits, so the observer becomes the observed in a visual game marked by light and colour. Hubertus travels the world as an ambassador for the Leica brand, merging his image with that of characters and places that symbolise contemporary pop culture. His portraits reflect the excessive fascination with fame and everything it symbolises.

Hubertus Von Hohenlohe shamelessly and almost arrogantly infiltrates his photographs, being both a spectator and a protagonist, an uninvited voyeur who crashes his own party. The artist successfully mixes intuition and careful post-production work, giving rise to a totally humorous, fresh and different work. For those of us who have lived in Marbella for years, the name Hohenlohe is indisputably associated with our city. Hubertus does not seek to hide his legacy and the energy he exudes in all facets of his eclectic life can be seen without shame in a work where he has managed to find, with great success, a voice that is incontestably his own. The works presented in this exhibition are a journey through vibrant urban colours, fame, advertising messages and the war cries that invade our space. The artist shamelessly and insolently appropriates everything around us, becoming an observer of the spectator; an observer of the narcissist.
