IRENE INFANTES - Boredom resistance test (celestial)
Biografía del Artista: Irene Infantes was born in Seville in 1989 and currently works between Spain and Milan. She studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins College, University of the Arts London, graduating in 2016. Her practice is based in the textile field, working primarily with wool and exploring its uses throughout history. Infantes seeks to revalue a material that was once used as currency, and to do so she draws inspiration from history, culture and popular traditions. His work sits at the meeting point of art and design, and he has collaborated with companies such as Lego, Christopher Farr and Lexus Spain. He has participated in numerous collective and solo exhibitions throughout Europe and the UK, and his works are part of private and public collections, such as the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, the MKG Museum in Hamburg, the University of the Arts London and Taka Ishii in Japan. René Infantes is represented by the Galería Alarcón Criado and his work is recognised for its focus on the use of traditional materials and their reinterpretation through a contemporary language. His work is an example of how textile practice can be used to convey stories and messages that are relevant today.
