‘Emerging spaces’
After his last exhibitions in Madrid “Aquí huidizo” at the Alcalá 31 gallery (2010) and the most recent “Espacios Emergentes” at the Lázaro Galdiano Museum (2019), and after a decade in which he has worked outside of Spain on projects in the USA, China, Brazil and Australia, Isidro Blasco presents three large-scale constructions made of wood and photography at the PONCE+ROBLES gallery. Focused on the visual iconography of the city of New York, where he has lived since 1996, he presents constructions that are developed in the gallery space, maintaining a clear relationship to the architecture that gave rise to them. They are incomplete and fragmented constructions that refer to the transitory nature of what we perceive as we walk through the city. Isidro Blasco combines architecture, photography and installation to explore physical and psychological terrain.
