Biografía del Artista: Joan Pallé is a visual artist from Lleida, Spain, born in 1989 and currently based in Basel, Switzerland. He has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (2017) and his work is related to critical theory, using the hegemonic visual imaginary in an ironic way and introducing references from the counterculture. In 2017, he was an artist in residence at Fabra i Coats (Barcelona) through the Sant Andreu Contemporani Residency Program. He has been awarded several prizes and scholarships, including the art <35 art prize from Banc Sabadell and Galeria Trama, an Erasmus scholarship to study at Middlesex University in London, a production grant from the Centre d'art la Panera, the Rocaumbert Fabrica de Creació prize, the Homessesions residency and production grant in collaboration with art 3, and a research grant from the Sala d'Art Jove and Macba. He was also awarded the Larva Biennal Award for best young artist from Lleida and his work was selected for the JCE Young European Biennial in 2017. His work has been exhibited in various solo and group exhibitions, including the Biennale Jeune Creation Européene at Le Beffroi, Ville de Montrouge, Paris and kunst bygningen i vrå, Denmark, the exhibition No es lo que muestra at Fabra I Coats, Barcelona, Mostra d'Art Urbá in Rocaumbert, Granollers, Embarrat. La Gran Máquina IV in Tarrega and Centre d'Art la Panera in Lleida. Recently, he has had an individual exhibition at the Fundació Arranz Bravo and the Institut d'Estudi Ilerdencs, Lleida. Since September 2020, he has resided in Basel, Switzerland, where he has studied the Master's program at the Institut Kunst en HGK, FHNW. She has also joined the PALAZZINA collective housing and open space project in Basel, being part of the curating team for the space’s exhibitions. In February 2023, she participated in her first group exhibition in Switzerland, in Giullieta, Basel.
