Biografía del Artista: Juan Manuel Castro Prieto is a Spanish photographer born in Madrid in 1958. He began his career in photography in the early 1970s and graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid in 1982. Throughout his career, he has combined his personal work with commissioned photography for the media and editorials. Castro Prieto is known for his poetic and evocative photographic style, which is characterized by the use of light and shadow to create suggestive and enigmatic atmospheres. His photographs, which focus on urban and rural landscapes, as well as portraits and everyday scenes, have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world. Among the awards and recognitions he has received are the National Photography Award in 2015, the Bartolomé Ros Award for the best graphic work in 2011 and the Kodak Foundation Photography Award in 1994. His work has also been included in important collections, such as those of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris and the Fundación Telefónica. In addition to his work as a photographer, Castro Prieto has also given workshops and lectures on photography at various institutions and has published several books, such as "El factor humano" and "México". His work continues to be relevant and admired in the world of contemporary Spanish photography. 'Cabinet of Curiosities' is a series of still lifes that draw directly from historical pictorial currents, but also from the memories of his childhood and his personal universe. Starting from the spaces of his childhood that once contained life but that today are abandoned, almost in ruins, he shows us his concerns through objects loaded with symbolism: his fear of death and oblivion, his fascination with light in the form of a ray that invades the darkness, his desire and hope for the redemption of man through beauty. These novel works in which gold leaf is applied directly to mineral pigments on acetate, are the result of years of research. The colors react in different ways, highlighting the reds and only allowing the blues to be seen due to the tenacity and practice of the artist.This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authenticating value of the artwork. The certificate may be signed by the author of the artwork, by the representative gallery, or by the engraver who collaborated with the artist on the artwork.

Recomendaciones para una conservación adecuada de las obras de arte:

- Si se quiere iluminar la obra de forma permanente, aconsejamos utilizar focos de luz fría. Utilizar un plumero suave para la limpieza periódica de la obra. Nunca usar limpiador doméstico.
