Lucia Pizzani - Spiral-cikebra
Biografía del Artista: Lucía Pizzani is a visual artist born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1975. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, Audiovisual Mention from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in her native country, Pizzani decided to continue her studies abroad. In 2005, she obtained a Certificate in Conservation Biology at Columbia University in New York, which led her to work in the area of environmental conservation. However, her passion for art led her to continue studying and in 2011 she received a Master of Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Arts and Design in London. Pizzani’s work focuses on nature, biology and identity. Through photography, installation and performance, she explores the relationship between humans and nature, questioning the way we relate to our natural environment and how this affects our own identity. Pizzani has exhibited her work in various solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the United States and Latin America. Some of her most recent solo exhibitions include “Mi Casa es su Casa” at Galería Guzmán in Madrid (2019) and “Línea Roja” at Galería Espacio Monitor in Caracas (2018). Her work has also been included in major group exhibitions such as the Beijing Art Biennale (2019), the Venice Art Biennale (2017) and the Cuenca Contemporary Art Biennial in Ecuador (2016). Pizzani has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work, including the Fundación Cisneros Award for Emerging Artists (2013) and the Armando Reverón National Visual Arts Award in Venezuela (2012). She currently lives and works between Madrid and Caracas.
