‘Paphos’
Initially, the self, unaware of its own limits, is situated at the centre of reality, fused with the outside world. Thus, in the first stages, a sculpture grows by integrating elements of its environment, to the point of merging with the tools used to carve it and the objects found in the workshop. In these first phases, the sculpture is not distinguished from the sculptor, but is the artist capable of appreciating the distinction? Both are integrated without their contours being clearly appreciated.
