'The beast and the soul'

The Beast and the Soul, an exhibition proposal by MP&MP ROSADO for Alarcón Criado at the start of the 20/21 season, is forged in the reading of Journey Around My Room. The text, written by Xavier de Maistre at the end of the 18th century during a forced 42-day confinement in Turin, is, in the words of Enrique Vila Matas, a literary myth of Borgesian shadows, a journey through immobility.

That interior space can contain immensities, that the individual can contain multitudes, is something that the artists have been working with since the beginning of their career. In light of the current circumstances, this main area of their work acquires a new potential and has led them to reclaim the intensity with which we have related to private space; to highlight the profound dimension of our own intimacy.
