‘Praise of appearance’

In Praise of Appearance is Nono Bandera's second solo exhibition at the Trinta gallery, expanding on the work he has developed in recent years, where the presence of ceramics has been a turning point in his most recent artistic projects. In the upper space, Bandera presents a selection of 48 drawings from the series Las imágenes y las cosas (made between 2018 and 2021) and a set of small-format ceramics that make up the project entitled Bastidores dobledos en el jardín (Frames folded in the garden). Both series have served Juan Fernando de La iglesia for the production of a text that will be part of the limited edition catalogue-work of 150 copies, which will be published at the end of November.
On the ground floor, works made of polychrome wood with oil are exhibited alongside recently produced ceramics where the use of trompe l'oeil becomes the cornerstone of this artistic purpose.
