‘The fascinating story of the without fine picture’
Sebas Anxo is the owner of his own iconography. His characters, although we identify them as such, are not, and are created with a compositional intention aimed at breaking the abstract nature of his works. The game of interchangeable elements placed on the support in a studied and conscious way, goes through countless stages without a conclusive end. His landscapes and characters are combined in a precise way, creating diverse semantic possibilities. In the preparation of a new project, the first steps on the support, mainly paper, are a kind of pictorial gestures, sometimes improvised, with motifs that are often repeated and generally abstract. Many times these first stains become waste, an amalgam of papers and materials that serve to recompose and rediscover new images. His concern is to achieve the balance of all those elements that intervene during the creation process.
