'Forget Princess, Call Me President'

 

The exhibition Forget princess, call me president by the artist Verónica Ruth Frías is based on feminist positions and themes that affect women in contemporary societies, recapturing the spirit of the fight for gender equality, and drawing inspiration from the African-American movement, and from the feminist struggles of the 60s and 70s and more recent ones, such as the Me too movement.
A multidisciplinary exhibition composed of a series of photographic works, videos documenting performances, installations, objects, as well as two-dimensional pieces of texts with slogans, with which she elaborates a visual discourse that is simultaneously feminist, poetic and aesthetic. Touching on themes ranging from gender violence to the need to end the discrimination suffered by women.
