Second exhibition at the Fernández-Braso gallery by Miquel Navarro (Mislata, Valencia, 1945), representative of the “New Spanish Sculpture” and author of exhibitions in museums and art centres such as the Guggenheim, Reina Sofía, Pompidou, IVAM and MACBA. Miquel Navarro received the National Prize for Plastic Arts in 1986 and has been a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando since 2009.

His work, made with industrial materials such as aluminium, iron, zinc and ceramics, constitutes a synthesis of interests, reflections, ideas and solutions between the industrial and agricultural architecture of his region combined with cultures and avant-gardes such as Ancient Egypt, the utopian urban planning of the Renaissance, Futurism, Metaphysical Painting, Constructivism and Surrealism.

The result is a constructive, architectural and emotional symbiosis where desire, dreams, pain, fear or pleasure crystallize in a type of sculptures and installations that reflect Mediterranean culture and life.
