Biografía del Artista: A graduate in Fine Arts and CAP from the University of Salamanca, Julio Falagán (Valladolid, 1979) has been making a name for himself in the contemporary Spanish art scene since he was very young. This has been demonstrated by recognitions such as an Honourable Mention in Caja Madrid's Generaciones04, a Casa de Velázquez Scholarship, and the Young Art Painting Prize from the Junta de Castilla y León, among others. At the same time, important institutions have hosted his exhibitions, such as the Casa Encendida, the Matadero and the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the Da2 in Salamanca, and the Patio Herreriano Museum of Contemporary Art in Valladolid. Julio Falagán's work takes painting as its starting point. But precisely that which circulates in real life and which he acquires by buying "finished paintings" at flea markets. Falagán appropriates conventional scenes or landscapes to fill them with strange objects that coexist without difficulty, helped by annotations and legends. Like captions or texts in cartoons, the annotations resolve the surprising relationships between the native characters in the paintings and the invaders or newcomers. His incisions literally turn the painting into a cartoon. Falagán's irony is revealed in associations in which he always counts on the spectator as an agent involved in the unfolding of meanings and in unexpected twists that recall advertising or media slogans.This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authenticating value of the artwork. The certificate may be signed by the author of the artwork, by the representative gallery, or by the engraver who collaborated with the artist on the artwork.
The information that a certificate of authenticity usually includes is: name of the artist, details of the work (title, date, support, dimensions) and an image of it.
Recomendaciones para una conservación adecuada de las obras de arte:
- Mantener las obras de arte alejadas de la luz directa del sol y de cualquier otra fuente de calor (calefacción, aire acondicionado, etc.) Evitar colgar las obras cerca de zonas con humo y contaminación (como chimeneas o cocinas). Te aconsejamos proteger los cuadros con un marco de cristal.
- Evitar las alteraciones bruscas de temperatura. Se recomienda conservar las obras pictóricas en zonas con temperatura ambiente de entre 18-20º y un 50% de humedad relativa.
- Si se quiere iluminar la obra de forma permanente, aconsejamos utilizar focos de luz fría. Utilizar un plumero suave para la limpieza periódica de la obra. Nunca usar limpiador doméstico.
