‘The shelter of amazement’
"The refuge of wonder", an exhibition by María Acuyo that shows paintings of the fantastical order, combining abstract formations with figurations of fictitious landscapes, which introduce us to worlds that do not exist as refuges for all the organic things that underlie the astonishing.
With a series of works of great chromatic power, María Acuyo has generated a kind of organic compositions between ovals, glazes and masses. An entire imaginary that she has cultivated for years with an almost automatic technical skill based on her scientific training. Along with this, landscapes with a clear romantic and literary reference that she takes as a field of sensitive reflection.
