Collective exhibition

This series is based on pieces from a site-specific project developed with the purpose of exploring and rethinking the concepts of temporality and image construction, generating a pictorial language from the photographic procedure of cyanotypes.

The initial premise of this project was to think about how the representation of images can be a material of production in itself. To this end, I built a tool that I dragged across the floor of my studio and its surroundings. Each itinerary I followed determined a type of recorded vocabulary. This allowed me to generate something from nothing (subtle scratches, dirt, leaves…) to explore ideas of resistance, lightness of contact and measurement of the body and its performativity by wandering. To work on tone and colour saturation without using paint, I played with different time exposures, bleach washes and natural dyes. In the particular case of this series, I incorporated elements of composition and design from traditional Spanish kitchen rags.
