Biografía del Artista: 'Recurrent Anaximander' is a generative animation presented on a custom-made circular LED screen. The piece shows a representation of the solar surface made from various algorithms (reaction-diffusion, Navier-Stokes, Voronoi and Perlin noise) applied to an image from the space observatory, Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) that is updated daily by NASA. Thanks to the incorporation of small planets, the work acts as an eclipse simulator, thus paying homage to the pre-Socratic philosopher Anaximander of Miletos (610-545 BCE), whose name gives the piece its title. Considered one of the Seven Sages of Greece, he was the first thinker to predict a solar eclipse and observe the gaseous atmosphere of the Sun and solar prominences, for which he had to use projections of the light of the Sun and the Moon using a specular camera obscura.This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authenticating value of the artwork. The certificate may be signed by the author of the artwork, by the representative gallery, or by the engraver who collaborated with the artist on the artwork.
