Biografía del Artista:
San Fernando, Cadiz, Spain, 1971.
Miguel Pablo and Manuel Pedro Rosado work and live in Seville. They are twin brothers who work under the name MP & MP Rosado. They studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville and at the School of Fine Arts in Athens.
They have a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Seville and are currently associate professors. Since the mid-1990s, they have developed work based on the constitutive mechanisms of discourse about the subject and its environment. Their paradoxical twin condition allows them to explore duality and the alter ego, the construction of the self, individual and collective, “like an immense mirror in which we recognize ourselves.” Perhaps for this reason, the most constant characteristics of their work has been the presence of the double, the ambiguity resulting from duplication, reflection and simulated repetition. Other characteristics of their projects are the exploration of life experiences, the private emotional substratum, the relationship between form and surface, language and meaning, emotions, subjective choices.
Through all this, he has managed to create a refined universe of conceptual references. They received the Pilar Juncosa & Sotheby's. Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró grant in Mallorca, for the realization of a project at said headquarters (2014-2015). Among others, they have resided at the ISCP International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York, and have been awarded (Iniciarte) (2006-2007); 5th ARCO Prize Community of Madrid (2008) and the IV Iniciarte Prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía (2009).
