Since her first works, Mar Solís has always been characterized by the intrinsic strength of her dialogues with space, which incite our intimate reflections to conceive dynamic structures that vibrate subtly and delicately. Each new work, in small or large format, indoors or outdoors, in metal, wood or paper, generates a unique poetic game that proposes kinetic discourses and site-specific responses to confer aesthetic and conceptual meanings to the context and propose, with each project, a renewed and unique energy.

The idea of movement in expansion, rest or intuition is one of the recent key ideas of Mar Solís, after two years where, far from relaxing, she has not stopped exploring expressive paths and consolidating her genuine imprint. For Apertura Madrid 2021 she will present her second solo exhibition at Puxagallery, under the title “Event Horizon”, playing with spaces in constant vibration, dispersion and fracture that generate new phenomenological realities, like cataclysms, fluctuating in multiple directions and connecting with the physical sciences. Her pieces are located in that weightless space where nothing is what it seems; the edge of a threshold that, like black holes and other possible relativities, traps you and keeps you vigilant, complicit, expectant. Thus, her current project defines structures that are immutable in their appearance that, however, are constantly transmuted in the exhibition as a whole. The viewer becomes part of the pieces and their human scale alters the surrounding events voluntarily or involuntarily, to contact their own sensorial perception, among causes and chances as beautiful as they are technically impeccable.
