David Tremlett - Wall Form #1
Biografía del Artista: David Tremlett (England, 1945) is one of the most versatile artists in the modern world. He studied sculpture at the Brimingham School of Art (United Kingdom) and then at the Royal College of Art (London, United Kingdom). Since the 1980s, his primary medium has been pastel, of which he says: "It's a fragile, delicate powder, so light you can blow it, but at the same time you can make something strong, demanding and structurally resilient out of it." In 1992, he was nominated for the Turner Prize for his wall drawings which are displayed all over the world. From the late 1970s, he began creating wall drawings especially on public projects such as the British Embassy in Berlin, the British Council building in Nairobi etc. Tremlett has exhibited internationally in private galleries and major museums with 10 catalogues and several artist books to her credit. Her extensive exhibition career includes solo exhibitions at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris; The Stedelijik Museum in Amsterdam; Museo Pecci, Prato, Italy; and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
David Tremlett (England, 1945) is one of the most versatile artists in the modern world. He studied sculpture at the Brimingham School of Art (United Kingdom) and then at the Royal College of Art (London, United Kingdom). In his artistic proposals, Tremlett makes drawings without artifice, simple, concise, clear and orderly, without passion or absolutism, through forms that refer to the dynamics of movement. In his mural work, the artist is much more architectural and structured. Each of his creations is the result of a projection, with the nakedness of the wall being a new field of experimentation, without defined limits, with perfectly assembled but individually free pieces, differing only in their shapes. Units that by themselves constitute a nucleus, but which need to be coupled together to form a whole. This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity.
