Alicia Varela - Fragilities
Biografía del Artista: Born in Gijón, she graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca, with an Erasmus Scholarship from the École Nationale des Beaux Arts in Bourges, France, and a Master's in Multimedia Design from the Istituto Europeo di Design, Madrid. At the beginning of her career, she devoted herself to graphic design while she was already beginning to make various collaborations as an illustrator in the publishing and textile sectors. Later, she dedicated herself fully to the field of illustration, working for different publishing media, within Spain and in other countries such as France, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or Mexico. Varela's work is characterized by its focus on geometric abstraction, which is reflected in his colorful and dynamic compositions. His paintings and drawings often feature shapes and patterns that create a hypnotic and vibrant visual effect. In his work, Varela uses a meticulous and detailed technique that combines the use of line and color to create complex and expressive compositions. His works often reflect his interest in geometry, nature and architecture, as well as the relationship between humans and their environment. In the field of children's literature, she has illustrated around twenty books and her work has been exhibited at the Bologna International Children's Book Fair and at the Bratislava Illustration Biennial.
