Antonio Sosa - Marsh tide
Biografía del Artista:
Antonio Sosa was born in Coria del Río in 1952 and lives in the neighbouring town of La Puebla, Seville. His deep and stable vital ties to these places on the right bank of the Guadalquivir are a notable element in approaching his work. From there, through his personal poetry, he achieves a language of universal symbols and signs. A solitary and independent creator, he acquired great prestige as a sculptor in the 1980s. He worked in the legendary gallery: La Máquina Española and was definitively consecrated as one of the most interesting and international Andalusian creators after his participation in the 1985 exhibition Eklécticos or his solo exhibition at the Luis Cernuda Foundation in 1989. Since 1981, he has participated in up to 100 exhibitions, as well as in all editions of ARCO until 2011. It is worth highlighting the inclusion in 2007 of his work in the important international compendium: Escupture Today published by Phaidon in London. His work is widely represented in private and institutional collections such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the National Library, the Banco de España Collection, the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, the Junta de Andalucía Collection, the El Monte Collection, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza, the Fundación La Caixa Collection or the Martin Luther King Columbus Center in Ohio, among others.
