Biografía del Artista:Carmelo Tedeschi (Enna, Italy, 1978) is a sculptor best known as the creator of unique accessories for conceptual designer Martin Margiela under the name “Line-0”. Carmelo Tedeschi has developed a remarkable knowledge of his craft with an approach to the material omnipresent in his works, leather, yet almost invisible in the practice of art. These freestanding sculptures display non-orientable surfaces that blend plane and sphere, allowing for multiple viewing angles. Made from untreated leather, these abstract, hand-carved objects attempt not to represent the exterior but the essence of things. His work has been exhibited at the Museo di Santa Giulia, Brescia and at the Daimler Art Collection in Berlin. His sculpture is on display and has served as a model for the mirrored staircase in Peter Marino’s Dior building by architect Christian de Portzamparc in Seoul.
