Cecilia de Val - Eternal network #16
Biografía del Artista: Cecilia de Val (Zaragoza, 1975) is a multifaceted artist who is dedicated to both photography and music, both by vocation. In her photographs, Cecilia portrays herself as a modern heroine who shapes her adventures and the spaces she travels through as she pleases, creating scenes of enchanted forests, sets for science fiction films and peripheral architecture. On other occasions, a split Cecilia, as if cut out of a children's story, ventures into silent dreams of pain, betrayal and intrigue. The crossing of genres such as science fiction literature, short stories, fantasy films, comics and Renaissance painting produces disturbing and mobile images, almost elusive, that explore the limits of the subconscious. The theme of her discourse questions individuality and identity through their opposites, multiplicity and the double. Cecilia knows that beauty attracts and frightens almost equally, and plays with it. Far from snapshots that capture a fleeting moment, her photographs are stories woven from eternal instants in which the everyday is transformed into the fantastic. Furthermore, the fact that Cecilia acts as director, main character and creator of her images grants her an unusual freedom to express a feminine and feminist vision in which we see ourselves reflected virtually.
