Biografía del Artista: Fernando Sinaga is a Spanish contemporary artist born in Zaragoza in 1951 and based in Salamanca. His artistic training took place in Zaragoza before studying Fine Arts in Barcelona, ​​where he received the Amigó Cuyás Scholarship in 1972 and the Castellblanch Scholarship in 1973. In 1976 he graduated from the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in Madrid and won the Premio de la Dirección General de Bellas Artes. In 1983, he received a scholarship from the Fonds für freie Erziehung in Zurich to study color theory in Goethean studies. A year later, he was awarded a research fellowship to study public sculpture in the United States. Sinaga's work first became known at the exhibition El Desayuno Alemán (1986) at the Galería Villalar in Madrid, which established him as a prominent figure in the Spanish art scene of the 1980s. Since then, he has exhibited his work in galleries and museums in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Brazil, and the United States. He has participated in events such as the Biennale Internacional de Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1989, and the 5th Triennale Fellbach in Germany in 1992. In 2000, his work represented Spain in the Spanish Pavilion at the Hannover Expo, and in 2002, his work "Cuerpo Diamantino" was exhibited at the exhibition Arte en España, 1997-2002, Obras de la Colección Arte Contemporáneo del Patio Herreriano at the Manege Exhibition Hall in Moscow. His work has also been presented at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid and at the Palais de Beaux Arts BOZAR in Brussels. Sinaga was awarded the Premio Villa de Madrid for the best sculpture exhibition in 2001 and the Premio Aragón Goya in 2010. His work can be found in renowned private and public collections around the world.
