Biografía del Artista: Gerold Miller is a contemporary artist born in 1961 in Altshausen, Germany and currently based between Berlin, Germany and Pistoia, Italy. He studied sculpture at the State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart, graduating in 1989 under the tutelage of Professor Jürgen Brodwolf. He subsequently received scholarships to study in Chicago, New York, Paris and Sydney. Miller’s work focuses on minimalist and abstract visual experiences that explore the fundamental elements of painting and sculpture. His distinctive artworks are painted sculptures using aluminum sheets coated with brightly colored industrial lacquers, giving them a high-gloss finish. The reflective experience as well as the scale of the works transform the space and create an ongoing tension between the objects and the surrounding space. Miller repeatedly works with sequences of similar geometric forms and thus his practice can be seen as a collective vision that always has a contemporary reference.
