Biografía del Artista: Inma Herrera (Madrid, 1986) and Shirin Salehi (Tehran, 1982) form a collective of visual artists that investigates the language of engraving in relation to sculpture, video and installation. Through their common practice, Herrera and Salehi relate the grammar and poetics of creative processes in multiple art, exploring the concepts of matter, time and ritual, in an open space of continuous questioning about metalanguage and the role that the body plays in the creative process. In 2019, her project proposal, Un Punto Fijo para Orientarse, was awarded the Pilar Juncosa Biennial Prize and Sotheby's 2019 from the Pilar y Miró Foundation in Mallorca, and exhibited in 2021 in the spaces of the Foundation. Her work, on an individual level, has been recognized through numerous artistic residencies and awards, highlighting the scholarship from the Spanish Academy in Rome (Herrera, 2017, Salehi, 2020), Ducat Prize 2020 (Herrera), and the Ankaria Foundation Prize 2015 (Salehi). Both have been nominated for the prestigious The Queen Sonja Print Award in Norway. They reside and work in different cities, Herrera in Helsinki and Salehi in Madrid.
