Juan del Junco - Never-ending: Handbook. The files. Fig.9b.
Biografía del Artista: Juan del Junco is a Spanish artist born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1972. "My work in the last 10 years has been decidedly photographic, although paradoxically I do not consider myself a photographer, I think that I place myself better in the category of artist who uses photography. In fact, although there is a certain refinement in the forms, I consider it more as the achievement of ideas rather than the search for a physical and formal end. I grew up lucky enough to have access to “insider information”, my father was a scientist and all those years going into his laboratory gave me provided knowledge and a tendency close to the praxis of science. This fact has undoubtedly meant that my approach when conceptualizing, producing and exhibiting is close to the paradigms of representation. scientific, but with the subversive idea of the free artist. If science is rigid and taxative, my proposals, although close to it, have all the freedom and artifice of the artist. Thus, in all my work several constants can be seen: the approach to the natural world, the symbolism of the staging, the constant autobiographical and above all the desire to classify: a kind of obsession close to the taxonomy that governs my artistic world. In the latest works, a new formulation can be seen, the sum of the drift in the landscape – a terrain close to the conceptual art of the 70s. along with the inclusion of personal experiences, the result of which can be understood in the postulates of Romanticism."
