Real and imaginary, geographical, political, linguistic, economic. A world fragmented by limits, categories, barriers, boundaries; subject to tensions and forces that are repeated in every human being. Because the most obtuse borders, the cliffs more abrupt, are those that live in each one of us. All our potentialities, the entire universe of realities that we could live, fit into the heartbeats n. Also all the gags that will prevent us from achieving them, all our fears, our chains. That is our last frontier. A border that does not appear on any map, invisible and magnetic, changing, ethereal. So far so close. In this project, Lola Guerrera uses light as a metaphor for that final frontier. Recreating the immensity of the constellations (that last horizon of the known universe, awe-inspiring and seductive as the abyss), Lola Guerrera manages to suggest that feeling of isolation and fragility that haunts the human being. It is also a way of relating the lowest and the absolute. From the reflection on the ephemeral and the vulnerable, a more introspective, more abstract view is born. A search for the essential. Taking light as raw material, it returns to the origins, both philosophical as material. By constructing galaxies and timeless spaces, the artist also reflects the terrifyingly intimate and staff. In this project, Lola Guerrera's work decisively takes a new path. It deals with a abrupt movement, rather it is a smooth and progressive turn of the gaze. The final frontier: ourselves.
