Louise Lawler - Open
Técnica: C-Print in silver jelly, ed. 5/10
Biografía del Artista: Louise Lawler is an American artist and photographer born in 1947 and currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Since the late 1970s, Lawler's work has focused on photographing portraits of other artists' works, paying particular attention to the spaces in which they are placed and the methods used to make them. Examples of Lawler's photographs include images of paintings hanging on the walls of a museum, paintings on the walls of an art collector's opulent home, artworks in the process of being installed in a gallery, and sculptures in a gallery being viewed by viewers. Lawler is known for her distinct photographic style and her ability to capture the essence of other artists' artworks and the spaces in which they are housed. Her images often question hierarchies in the art world, such as the difference between museum art and art in private collections. In addition to her work in photography, Lawler has also made installations and sculptures in collaboration with other artists. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including MoMA in New York, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid. Lawler has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including the National Arts Club Gold Medal for Photography in 2014.This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authenticating value of the artwork. The certificate may be signed by the author of the artwork, by the representative gallery, or by the engraver who collaborated with the artist on the artwork.
The information that a certificate of authenticity usually includes is: name of the artist, details of the work (title, date, support, dimensions) and an image of it.
