Marina Núñez - Nature (Mountain)
Técnica: Monochanal video
Biografía del Artista: With her recent plastic work, Marina Núñez (Palencia, 1966) invites us to reflect on how the increasingly common interferences between the human and the technological affect our subjectivity and our lives. A constant in her work has always been the representation of aberrant, different beings, those that exist on the margins or against the canon. The anomalous bodies that populate his paintings, infographics or videos speak to us of a metamorphic, hybrid, multiple identity. He recreates a destabilized and impure subjectivity for which otherness is not It is something alien, but rather it basically constitutes the human being.
Thus, his hysterical women, jellyfish, mummies, monsters and cyborgs, despite belonging to the territory of the excluded, do not seem distant to us, but rather affect us and identify with them. And his images are perceived as slightly distorted mirrors that suggest to us that madness or monstrosity are simply a question of degree.
Marina Núñez's work is part of prominent collections such as those of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, MUSAC, Artium, CA2M, La Caixa, Fundación Botín, Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Katzen Art's Center, FRAC Corse, Museo de El Cairo, etc. and has had a wide diffusion inside and outside the artistic circuit, as the author of publications, texts for conferences, etc. Since 1993 she has held numerous exhibitions in prestigious museums and galleries in Europe, Latin America and the United States, among which we can highlight the solo exhibitions at the Museo Reina Sofía, MUSAC, Artium, Es Baluard, Capilla del Museo Patio Herreriano, Centre d'Art La Panera, Burgos Cathedral, the intervention on the Façade of the IVAM, etc. Or in the Galerías Buades, OMR, Pilar Serra, Espacio Mínimo, John Berggruen and many others.
