Monique Bastiaans - Nina VII
Biografía del Artista: Monique Bastiaans (1954, Belgium) is a Dutch/Spanish artist and sculptor living and working in Chiva, Valencia, Spain. She creates monumental installations and ephemeral interventions in public and private spaces. Her works introduce playful elements into rural or urban landscapes. Her sculptures fuse form, colour and material into an inseparable unit, creating a sense of unreality and magic. She uses many types of materials, including wood, rubber, polyester, bronze, latex, plastics, cardboard, iron and ceramics. She has also worked with paste, which is a traditional biodegradable natural material. Her respect for the environment is also one of the fundamental reasons for the ephemeral nature of much of her work. He has carried out commissions for town councils and public buildings and has exhibited in numerous galleries, halls and museums in Spain and abroad. Selected exhibitions: L'Altre Eco, sculpture at the entrance of the EICD Department, Valencia, (ES) 5th International Biennial l'Andart, (AD) CCCC, Valencia (ES), Komagane Art Museum, Komagane, (JP) Exercises para Crecer, intervention in the Plaza de la Virgen, Valencia (ES), Seven Valleys, mobile sculptures, Blavand beach, (DK)
