Biografía del Artista: Nadín Ospina (Bogotá, Colombia, 1960) He holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá. Nadín Ospina's work is aimed at detecting and reaffirming cultural fusions and interactions, the allegorical representation of symbolic encounters as a metaphor for contemporary historical events, humor as a tool for reflection, the appeal to the imagery of Pop culture with the consequent reappearance of fantastic beings and pre-Columbian references. The concepts of “the Other”, “otherness”, “alterity” have been fundamental topics of social science studies in their attempt to explain the problems intrinsic to human interaction. In Ospina’s work, the idea of “The Other” as opposed to the concept of identity defines the experience of confrontation with the strange, the alien, the different, the distant, the uncertain. His extensive career has been recognized with numerous awards and recognitions, such as the Prize of the XXXIV National Salon of Artists of Colombia in 1992 or the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Scholarship in 1997. His work is represented in international collections such as the Pérez Art Museum, Miami, USA; Ludwing Forum, Aachen, Germany; Rijksmuseum voor Volkenkunde, Leiden, Netherlands; Daros Latin American Collection, Zurich, Switzerland; Museum of the Americas, Denver, Colorado; Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth; Museum of Fine Arts of Caracas, Venezuela; Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO), Colombia, among others.This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authenticating value of the artwork. The certificate may be signed by the author of the artwork, by the representative gallery, or by the engraver who collaborated with the artist on the artwork.
The information that a certificate of authenticity usually includes is: name of the artist, details of the work (title, date, support, dimensions) and an image of it.
Recomendaciones para una conservación adecuada de las obras de arte:
- Mantener las obras de arte alejadas de la luz directa del sol y de cualquier otra fuente de calor (calefacción, aire acondicionado, etc.) Evitar colgar las obras cerca de zonas con humo y contaminación (como chimeneas o cocinas). Te aconsejamos proteger los cuadros con un marco de cristal.
- Evitar las alteraciones bruscas de temperatura. Se recomienda conservar las obras pictóricas en zonas con temperatura ambiente de entre 18-20º y un 50% de humedad relativa.
- Si se quiere iluminar la obra de forma permanente, aconsejamos utilizar focos de luz fría. Utilizar un plumero suave para la limpieza periódica de la obra. Nunca usar limpiador doméstico.
