Biografía del Artista: Pablo Palazuelo1915 - 2007Pablo Palazuelo (Madrid, 1915-2007) is one of the international leaders of Spanish abstract art in the second half of the 20th century. His paintings, sculptures and prints (including his forays into poetry and art theory) must be understood as a coherent whole. Numbers, drawings, lines, planes, space and colour are essential elements of his work, which are at the service of geometry. Not in vain, the Madrid master studied architecture and embraced painting without leaving aside a deep curiosity for ancient philosophy – especially the pre-Socratics –, contemporary physics, as well as hermetic and oriental thought, readings that accompanied him until the end of his existence. With the Pythagoreans he shared the idea that mathematics constitutes the language of Nature and the lack of knowledge of it brings about the inability to know its beauty. "The operation of points, lines, surfaces and colors - declared Palazuelo in 1976 - is long, slow, tortuous, full of errors, blindness, doubts, anguish and danger, but there is also, throughout it, peace, balance, deep satisfaction, pleasure and exhilarating freedom, because it is about encoding the convergence of the affection of the one who paints with the feeling of nature." Palazuelo's production is therefore an extension of his abstract creation but by other means, which unfolded from the flatness of paper or canvas to configure the spaces of his works. sculptures and architectures.https://www.fundacionpablopalazuelo.es/en/pablo-palazuelo/This artwork includes a certificate of authenticity.
