In autumn and with the beginning of the art season, contemporary art fairs begin. We tell you which are two of the most notable ones and the important role that RedCollectors plays in them.
STAMP
From October 17 to 20, 2019
Keys to buying art at art fairs like Estampa .
Elisa Hernando, one of the most accredited voices in art collecting, gives us some tips for buying art at the Estampa Fair, which starts on October 17 in Madrid.
The Estampa contemporary art fair kicks off on October 17th. This fair has been taking over Madrid's autumn for 27 years. Art fairs are becoming the most important points of sale for the art market, but what should I know before buying a work? Elisa Hernando, one of the most accredited voices in art collecting, founder and CEO of the art consultancy Arte Global and of RedCollectors.com, gives us some recommendations to keep in mind if we are going to go to Estampa with the intention of buying.
First of all, it is important to “Look at art without prejudice, without judging whether it is well done or not” as Elisa Hernando tells us. Of course, it is important to set a budget per work, or annually. If you want to start a collection, Hernando stresses that you do not have to be rich to do so, nor do all works have stratospheric prices, it is not the same to buy a photograph, an engraving or a painting, or an established or young artist. What Elisa Hernando does assure is that “You have to buy what you love, since you are going to live with that work for a long time” and to go to professionals if you have doubts “It is better that the purchasing process gives you confidence and you enjoy it until the work is where you want it.”
RedCollectors' purchasing advice does not have an extra cost for the art buyer , explains Hernando, "we accompany them throughout the entire process and ensure the best price."
Elisa Hernando has prepared a tour of the imagination and creativity of the artists present at Estampa. Of course, it is worth highlighting the relevant presence of Daniel Canogar, guest artist at Estampa 2019, of whom Hernando highlights “He is one of the artists of his generation with the greatest international projection. Technology and image play a special role in his work.”
Other artists recommended by the consultant are Luis Vassallo (Madrid, 1981), an artist whose origins are graffiti but who evolved towards painting; Guillem Nadal (Mallorca, 1957), whose artistic work fuses the pictorial with the sculptural; Felicidad Moreno (Toledo, 1959) who investigates the relationship between light, colour and composition; Ira Lombardía (Asturias, 1977) whose production, mainly photographic, focuses on digital visual culture.
RedCollectors.com offers you the possibility of sending you a selection of works that suit your tastes and budget , as well as resolving your doubts before visiting the fair by simply entering their website and registering at www.redcollectors.com
FIG BILBAO
From November 14th to 17th, 2019
Consultant Elisa Hernando will lead the FIG Bilbao 2019 art purchasing advisory program .
The initiative, called AcercArte, provides a selection of works adapted to the tastes, profile and budget of collectors or people interested in making their first acquisition .
FIG Bilbao is strengthening its art purchasing advisory service with the addition of one of the most accredited voices in the art collecting world, Elisa Hernando, founder and CEO of the consultancy Arte Global and the RedCollectors.com platform . Hernando will be responsible for this initiative, called AcercArte, during the International Festival of Engraving and Art on Paper, which will take place from 14 to 17 November at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.
This is a free, personalized art purchasing advisory service. “Fairs are becoming the most important points of sale for the art market,” says Hernando, who, together with his team, will prepare a selection of the works of the artists present at FIG Bilbao for those who request it. Each proposal will be in line with the tastes, profile and budget of those interested. It is a completely digital service, which will also allow us to handle requests from people who do not attend the fair. It is aimed at collectors and people who want to get started in this field.
However, RedCollectors will have a physical space at the Euskalduna Palace where the advisory staff will answer any questions the public may have during their visit to FIG Bilbao.
