Art Wednesday: Arnulf Rainer
Art Wednesdays with Elisa Hernando presents the work of the artist Arnulf Rainer (Bern, Austria 1929). His work is influenced by Surrealism, Viennese Actionism or Goya. In 1950 he created the plastic collective Hundsgruppe, together with other artists such as Ernst Fuchs. Since 1970 he has been taking photos of himself investigating the limits of performance, gestural and abstraction. His work is in collections such as the TATE or the MoMA. In this video we take a tour of his exhibition at the NF art gallery with the help of its director, Nerea Fernández and the collector Eduardo Salazar Yuste, patron of museums such as the MAMBO in Bogotá. We will talk about collecting art, art prices and the market. The exhibition can be visited online at Redcollectors.
