'Light moments'

[…] His photographs are traces of the beauty and silence that the landscape gives us, where the human presence is an integral part of the spectacular nature, but it is not the active subject, it is only part of that landscape.

Guided by the light and colour that make him up, he makes you invade the spaces he creates, as if we were there in the continuous present. There is a permanent halo in his photographs as if something imminent were going to happen: that we are invaded by a hurricane of air or almost smell the rain, or are banished in silence and overwhelming solitude.

The reality that we sometimes do not see, transformed into the unreality that we perceive and feel.

A photographer in search of what he finds interesting, who has voluntarily moved away from the documentary form but is immanent in his travels through Cuba, Iceland, etc. and wherever he goes. Moments of light wrapped in colour as if they were an eternal present.

His manifest desire to transport the viewer to these places, and make us participants in the sensations experienced, makes Mellado delve deeper into the technical possibilities of capturing, processing and copying his photographic images.

Capturing the hidden beauty of the everyday, the seemingly vulgar, the abandoned, the decadent, and giving it light, and the cold or heat of color, forms the discourse of the work of this great artist.
